The Air Jordan 1 Low UNC is a college basketball-themed colorway of the low-top edition of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe. An original color option on the Air Jordan 1 by Nike from 1985, the “UNC” theme refers to the white-and-blue team uniform colors of the North Carolina Tar Heels, Michael’s alma mater. Where many “UNC” inspired Air Jordans feature University Blue accents, the Jordan 1 Low seen here opts for Powder Blue detailing. The Powder Blue shade previously appeared on the original Air Jordan 9 “Powder Blue” in 1993 and on the Air Jordan 10 of the same nickname in 1994. On this shoe, white leather can be found on the perforated toe and mid-panel. Contrasting Powder Blue overlays appear on the forefoot, eyelets, collar, and heel. An Obsidian (dark blue) leather Swoosh with subtle Powder Blue contrast stitching graces both sides and a “Wings” logo is embroidered onto the heel.
Air Jordan Brand added luxe materials to a classic silhouette with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Low UNC. This release combines Jumpman’s ongoing Satin 1 concept with the colorway that started it all. Jordan 1 Low consists of a white and red leather upper with red satin tongue and liner. Black faux snakeskin leather detailing appears on the upper as well. A white midsole, blue outsole, and a traditional Jordan Wings graphic on the ankle completes the design. These sneakers released in August of 2020 and available on bregalmart.com now.
